Get the Facts: 5 Things to Know Before You Vote

Over the past two days you have been presented with some conflicting information from Kroger and UFCW Local 400.  We know this may create some stress and even confusion. As you prepare to make a big decision about your new contract, here are the top five things you should consider before you vote:

  1. Biggest Pay and Healthcare Boost Ever: This offer is the biggest boost in wages and healthcare benefits that Kroger Mid-Atlantic has ever given to West Virginia associates.
  2. Bigger Paychecks for Everyone: Every associate will get a raise, making their paychecks grow by anywhere from 6% to 26%. These increases are retroactive to February 25. If our offer is ratified, every shift worked this week will be paid at your new rate of pay. Ask your Store Leader for details.
  3. Great Healthcare Without Extra Costs: We’ll continue to provide industry leading healthcare benefits, and you won’t have to pay more for it in 2024 or 2025. And in 2026 there are modest increases ranging from $1 to $4 per week based on the plan you choose.
    Retiree Healthcare: Our offer keeps retiree healthcare as it is today.
  4. More Time Off: Associates hired after October 21, 1989, will earn more vacation much sooner, where you can take a break from work and still get paid.
  5. Your Vote Matters: You have the right to choose what’s best for you and your family. Nobody should tell you what to decide about your job and your benefits. If you agree our offer rewards you with more money than ever, low-cost high-quality healthcare and more vacation sooner, we encourage you to vote “YES” in favor of ratifying our offer.
